Services and Responsibilities

Through this department, the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers & Helpers provides education and training opportunities to members, local lodge stewards and officers, and International staff.

Each summer, the department sponsors a Boilermakers Collective Bargaining Institute [1] at the University of Wisconsin, where local lodge leaders and activists learn skills to enable them to serve their members.

The department also provides or facilitates steward training [2] for local lodges and special training for local lodge officers [3].

International staff [4] receive training through this department’s programs as well as through classes taught by the National Labor University in Washington, D.C., and other educational resources.

Calendar

Upcoming educational and training opportunities from the International and from other sources are listed on the Boilermakers Education & Training Calendar [5].
