Services Provided to LodgesTraining of officers, committeepersons and stewards. Training to date includes time study, cost-of-living, Robert's Rules of Order, government forms (LM's and 990's), disciplinary proceedings, understanding company economic proposals, costing of proposals, arbitration, sexual harassment, grievance writing, unfair labor practices, and Conciliation Service, Health Insurance, Safety, Worker's Compensation, Organizing, negotiations, steward training, Family Medical Leave Act, and pension plans. Future Meetings and TrainingCouncil Leaders and the IR/O meet quarterly to discuss and determine training subjects. Members receive training in all-day sessions the 3rd month of each quarter. The Council is proud that training instructors include attorneys, professors, International staff members, federal mediators, Department of Labor employees, and delegates to the Council. History of the CouncilThe Council was founded in September of 1999. Annual meetings are held each year, and officers are elected every 3 years.
