Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief

HURRICANE SANDY
MID-ATLANTIC AND NORTHEAST DISASTER

TO ALL LOCAL LODGES

RE: Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Members and their Families

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

Our sympathy and thoughts are with those members and their families that have endured the onslaught of Hurricane Sandy. Hurricane Sandy has hit the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast region hard. Thousands of Boilermaker members and their families live in this region of the country. They need our help.

I write this appeal to all MEMBERS and all BOILERMAKER LODGES. While we do not yet know the extent of the damage or loss our fellow members and their families have endured with this massive storm, possibly including personal injury or worse, we know that many will look to their union for some measure of assistance.

I am asking each member to donate whatever amount of personal money you can afford to give as assistance to fellow distressed Boilermakers. I am further asking that all Boilermaker lodges make contributions that are prudent and consistent with the lodge’s financial stability and fiscal health. Contributions donated to the Brotherhood’s Disaster Fund will help our members and their families in their time of desperately needed relief.

Please make all member PERSONAL CONTRIBUTIONS and BROTHERHOOD LODGE contributions to:

All local lodges are hereby authorized to make contributions that are prudent and consistent with the lodge’s financial stability and fiscal health. For those local lodges that are located in the region affected by this storm, we will be attempting to contact your local lodge leadership as soon as possible to coordinate whatever assistance we can offer.

The thoughts of your International officers, staff, employees and fellow members are with our members and their families in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast region as they begin the hard task of rebuilding their lives in the midst of the massive devastation wrought by this storm.

With our best wishes and prayers, I am

Sincerely and fraternally yours,
