Sen. Shelby sells out U.S. construction workers

The Building and Construction Trades Department (BCTD) issued a press release June 14 condemning the actions of Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL), who spearheaded an amendment that weakens prevailing wage laws, allowing employers to import construction workers and pay them less than local prevailing rates. The amendment was approved by the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations.
