UNITE HERE adds three Chicago Hyatts to boycott list

Workers at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, Park Hyatt, and Hyatt Regency O’Hare announced a boycott of their hotels August 24. The UNITE HERE members at these hotels have been without a contract for over a year – since August 31, 2009. They are asking everyone who supports labor not to meet, eat, or sleep at these hotels until this dispute has been resolved.

These three Chicago-area Hyatts are joining the following eight hotels which are also under boycott:

  • Grand Hyatt San Francisco
  • Hyatt Fisherman’s Wharf (San Francisco)
  • Hyatt Regency San Francisco
  • Hyatt Harborside at Logan International Airport
  • Hyatt Regency Boston
  • Hyatt Regency Cambridge
  • Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego
  • Hyatt Regency Sacramento

For a complete list of all businesses currently being boycotted by AFL-CIO unions, as well as a do-buy list of all-union vacations, visit the Union Label & Service Trades Department website: www.unionlabel.org.

The Hyatt hotel chain is also mentioned in UNITE HERE’s recently released film, Show Us the Tax Breaks.
